We have learned many things since establishing the Foundation. At the top of the list is just how many people have a heart to do good, but also how difficult it is for those individuals and organizations to raise the funds they need to fulfill their mission.
Several years ago we determined that it was within our mission “to care for those who care for others” to address this problem. We have worked with the A-thon Project to develop a professional fundraising system and today we launched www.a-thon.org to help those who are caring for others.
The funds generated by the a-thon system do not pass through the Foundation, they flow directly to the designated cause. There is no upfront fee and no revenue sharing. 100% of the funds generated, less credit card fees, are paid to the cause.
The system is completely online with nothing to download. Setup and operation require only basic computer skills. There are ten different a-thon types, the most unique being a weight-loss a-thon which helps participants get healthy while raising funds for good a cause.
Usage is not limited to individuals and causes, the system can also be used by corporations, municipalities, school and service organizations to encourage employees, members, communities, and customers to raise funds for good causes.
